The Tyoga Historic Pathway is a 1.6-mile trail located near Deerton, Michigan in the Escanaba River State Forest. The trail runs along the river and features a wide variety of simple terrain that is perfect for any skill level. Visitors will travel through the old logging town of Tyoga, which existed from 1905 to 1908. Along the pathway, there are signs indicating some of the history of the town as well as the possibility of seeing old remnants of the town. The trail is best for hiking in the warm months, but hikers should be aware that there are several wet areas along the route. In the winter, the pathway is not groomed, but visitors are still welcome to ski or snowshoe along the pathway.
