This stony, dune-like environment abuts a small cove on Lake Michigan’s Little Traverse Bay and provides about 500 feet of beach frontage. A portion to the south of this beach area has been landscaped and a segment of the Little Traverse Wheelway non-motorized trail has been installed that connects West Lake Street along a trail segment installed within an easement to the west of the Saint Francis Xavier Church’s Solanus Mission property, to the trail segment within the Solanus Mission Beach area, to a new segment north of Water Street, and through the Water Street right-of-way to Wachtel Avenue and the Festival Place portion of Bayfront Park.
