This is a beautiful area, one that the locals enjoy as well as riders from “below the bridge”. At this quaint rustic equestrian campground there are six designated sites that are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional amenities include: vault toilets, manuer pits, and potable water from a hand pump. Campers also make use of the group fire pit for cooking or warming up at on cold days. This is a beautiful area, one that the locals enjoy as well as riders from “below the bridge”. There is a large equestrian day-parking area where users may park and stage equipment while they enjoy access to over 25 miles of well marked trails. The looped trails systems allows riders to choose routes that vary in length. Some of the trail segments offer challenges and steeper grades to climb that may help get your horse in shape. A highlight for this area is the trail to Lake Superior which is an 18 mile round trip ride and a must-do (see trail marker 6 on the map). Sections of the trail are on state forest and county roads and will be shared with motorized use. There are miles and miles of trails that are open to explore in the area via GPS or with an ORV map and include several small lakes in the area that you can ride to.
